Telegram is a free cloud-based instant messaging service. There are Telegram clients for both mobile (Android, iOS, Windows Phone, Ubuntu Touch) and desktop systems (Windows, macOS, Linux). Users can send messages and exchange photos, videos, stickers, audio, and files of any type. Telegram also provides optional end-to-end-encrypted messaging. Telegram is founded by Russian entrepreneur Pavel Durov. The service also provides APIs to independent developers. In February 2016, Telegram stated that it had 100 million monthly active users, sending 15 billion messages per day. This application has provided businesses with a perfect opportunity to start their digital advertising campaign and see themselves closer than before to their clients and audience. Telegram currently has more than 45 million users in Iran, equal to 56% of the Iranian population. The majority of the most popular and followed Telegram channels fall under the category of news and entertainment, such as the news channel @Iranfnews, and @Niazcom_ir entertainment channel, with roughly 2 million followers each.
The video message is coming out of Telegram 4.0 update, along with a bunch of other new additions. The new video message mode is enabled by going to any Telegram chat. Then you tap on the microphone icon to switch to the app’s camera mode. Afterward, you tap and hold the camera icon to record your video message, which can be up to a minute. To send it, just release the recording button. Telegram claims that sending these videos are quick because the app actually compresses the clip even as it is being recorded. When you get a video message from someone else, you can view it while you are also checking out all of your text messages by watching it in a picture-in-picture window. Another new feature in Telegram 4.0 is called Telescope, which allows the user to record a video message and then post it outside of the app to other platforms. Basically, when you decide to post a video message to a public channel on Telegram, it will also be uploaded to the Telescope hosting platform. It automatically creates a URL so that the video can be posted and viewed without the need to use a Telegram app or account. The rise of bots in messaging services is growing by leaps and bounds, and the new 4.0 version of Telegram is embracing that trend with its new Bot Payments feature. It basically works like it sounds; you can now pay directly in messages to any bots who offer those kinds of features and services. If your payment account uses two-step verification, bot payments will only take two taps to work. Finally, Telegram 4.0 adds the Instant View Platform feature. This will allow any website to use a template so that it can access the company’s Instant View format, which is supposed to make web pages easier to read when viewed in the Telegram app.
Pavel Durov, the founder of encrypted messaging app, Telegram, has claimed that United States government officials tried to bribe him and his staff to install backdoors into its service. "During our team's 1-week visit to the US last year we had two attempts to bribe our devs by US agencies + pressure on me from the FBI," Durov said in a tweet when responding to criticism about his app. Durov continued to say he believes it is "naive" that organizations and companies can "run an independent/secure crypto app" from within the US. He also made claims that Telegram's main competitor, the widely used Signal, may have a 'backdoor' that can bypass encryption. All of the suggestions by the Telegram founder have not been proven and Durov has not provided any public evidence to back-up the claims.
